At the mid-point of the 2030 Agenda, we are still far left behind in achieving the sustainable development goals.

In the recovery framework from the COVID-19 pandemic and the acceleration of the SDGs, we are witnessing the increasing influence and power of corporations in decision-making and national-level development policies. This has been leading to the exacerbating impacts of the debt and climate crisis, and the worsening conditions of women and girls resulting from liberalisation, deregulation and privatisation of the commons, and austerity measures affecting their access to basic social services.

This briefer would like to shed light on the aspect of means of implementation of the SDGs, particularly financing, the structures behind and the needed systems change in order to achieve the SDGs and feminist demands for development justice.

This briefer is also being launched in time for the Financing for Development Forum happening in the auspices of the UN Headquarters in New York from 17-20 April 2023, and aims to guide APWLD membership and fellow feminist organisations within the movements and across regions on our engagement in the FfD.
