Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women from Central Asia countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) with relevant skills and experience to apply for the position of Central Asia Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) Coordinator.

The successful applicant will work with our committed team and membership to advance women’s human rights and women’s organising power through Feminist Participatory Action Research in Central Asia and significantly contribute to APWLD’s institutional strength and sustainability.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of women’s human rights in Asia Pacific;
  2. In-depth understanding of the political, economic and socio-cultural environments in Central Asia;
  3. Experience and knowledge of (feminist) participatory action research with grassroots organisations and their communities;
  4. A degree in social sciences, law, human rights, development or women’s studies;
  5. Knowledge of international human rights and development issues in Asia Pacific;
  6. Minimum of five years experience in development work and women’s human rights at the national, sub-regional or regional level;
  7. High level project management skills including programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
  8. Experience in sub-grant management is an asset;
  9. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse, membership driven network;
  10. Excellent command of English and Russian languages, both oral and written and demonstrated ability to write for movements as well as program reports and project proposals;
  11. Good interpersonal skills, with ability to network in a multi-cultural environment and to develop strong professional relationships with members and other stakeholders;
  12. Proficient ICT skills – familiarity in using online shared platforms such as Google Suite and Dropbox is preferred;
  13. Must be able to travel overseas as required.

Remuneration
Salary range commences at THB 51,750 (equivalent of USD 1,500) per month. Other benefits include contributions to employment pension fund; education allowance for children, 13th month salary, housing allowance and relocation allowances for staff required to relocate to Chiang Mai.

A probationary period of four months applies.

This is a full-time position with a 2-year contract and will be based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
