Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting WOMEN in all their diversities, including those belonging to minority and marginalised groups from Thailand, to apply as Finance Officer. 

Due to the nature of the work, this position is open for Thai nationals only and the successful candidate is expected to relocate and work from Chiang Mai, Thailand

The successful applicant will work with our committed Secretariat and membership to advance women’s human rights, women’s organising power, strengthening cross-movements solidarity and advocate for Development Justice.

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in Finance or Accounting area;  
  • Knowledge of financial tools, bookkeeping and generating financial reports;  
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes according to Thai legislation as well as knowledge on international standards on auditing;
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance; 
  • Good command of English language, both oral and written; 
  • Advanced knowledge on computerised accounting softwares and IT skills;  
  • Experience in managing and overseeing team members and performing cross collaborative work;  
  • Strong coordination/teamwork skills both within and across teams;  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse, membership-driven network and its allies; 
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to network in a multicultural environment and to develop strong professional relationships with members and other stakeholders;
  • Experience in working for the  promotion of women’s human rights in Asia and the Pacific is an advantage; 
  • Must be able to travel overseas as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains a full set of organisation’s accounts, including maintenance of daily book records, handling of balance sheets and preparation of financial statements for auditing and donor reports;
  2. Oversees financial disbursement of APWLD  activities;
  3. Collaborates to strengthen APWLD’s sub-grant financial management, policy and processes to guarantee operational efficiency;
  4. Tracks APWLD’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvements and any trouble-shooting;
  5. Advises methods for minimising any financial risk to APWLD;
  6. Contribute to the preparation of financial reports for APWLD governance and donors;
  7. Maintain and ensure compliance of APWLD financial policies and procedures by all programmes, members and staff as well as provide necessary support where relevant;
  8. Supervises the tasks of the finance team and supports the Finance Manager in performing other tasks pertaining to finance matters; 
  9. Performs any other tasks that may be assigned to her by the Finance Manager and/or Regional Coordinator.

Remuneration & Compensation

Salary range commences at THB 62,100 (USD1,800 at a fixed rate of THB 34.50) per month. Other benefits include health insurance, social security fund and contributions to the employee provident fund; and 13th month salary. This is a full-time position with a two-year (renewable) contract; and a probationary period of four months applies. Staff will work from the Secretariat in  Chiang Mai, Thailand. Due to the nature of the work, only Thai Nationals are eligible to apply.
