Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting WOMEN in all their diversities, including those belonging to minority and marginalised groups from Thailand to apply as Finance Associate.

Due to the nature of the work, this position is open for Thai nationals only and the successful candidate is expected to relocate and work from Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The successful applicant will work with our committed Secretariat and membership to advance women’s human rights, women’s organising power, strengthening cross-movements solidarity and advocate for Development Justice.

Selection Criteria

  • At Least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting;
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance; 
  • Strong coordination/teamwork skills both within and across teams; 
  • Knowledge of financial tools, bookkeeping and generating financial reports; 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse, membership-driven network and its allies;
  • Good command of English language, both oral and written; 
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to network in a multicultural environment and to develop strong professional relationships with members and other stakeholders;
  • Experience in working for the  promotion of women’s human rights in Asia and the Pacific is an advantage; 
  • Must be able to travel overseas as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains bookkeeping for all finance transactions;
  2. Assist the overall cross check and finalisation process of the financial reports from sub-grant partners in coordination with the Finance Officer and Grants Manager.
  3. Prepare financial transactions as required;
  4. Provide regular updates on the progress of work to the Finance Officer and Finance Manager;
  5. Assists the Finance Officer with the preparation of financial report; 
  6. Provides administrative support, where required;
  7. Performs any other duties as required by the Finance Manager and/or Regional Coordinator. 

Remuneration & Compensation

Salary range commences at THB 41,400 (USD 1,200 at a fixed rate of THB 34.50) per month. Other benefits include health insurance, social security fund and contributions to the employee provident fund; and 13th month salary. This is a full-time position with a two-year (renewable) contract; and a probationary period of four months applies. Staff will work from the Secretariat in  Chiang Mai, Thailand. Due to the nature of the work, only Thai Nationals are eligible to apply.
