In Indonesia and Cambodia, Special Economic Zones (SEZs) served as hubs for labor-intensive garment and textile industries, predominantly employing female workers. The Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) process, conducted from 2020 to 2023, brought together women worker leaders from SEZs for the first time, fostering their solidarity under their shared identity as workers. This newfound solidarity empowered the women workers to confront injustices within the factories.
