Interactive and full of exciting powerful speakers and a mobilisation, the Ground Level Peoples’ Forum (GLPF) will bring together over 100 progressive civil societies and peoples’ movements to share their struggles and resistance. On the weekend between High Level Political Forum, CSOs, human rights defenders and activists will gather to show why Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are failing and tell the grounded realities of ongoing climate crisis, wealth inequality, corporate plunder, trade wars, militarism, foreign occupation, forced migration, attack on labour rights, land and resource grabbing, blatant misogyny, and increasingly macho-fascist governments that work with impunity to attack democratic rights. They are gathering to hold governments accountable for the commitments that they have made for sustainable development.

In the current neo-liberal development model, attacks against the working class and human rights defenders are worsening and it is increasingly important to build solidarity between movements – feminists, migrants, dalits, refugees, trade unions and workers, indigenous peoples, farmers, urban poor, diaspora, and much more – in the US and abroad. The forum will aim to create a space to address these concerns and demand for development justice.  Click here for more information.

In this event, peoples movements will come together to:

  • Connect with  international and grassroots activists to build solidarity for their struggle
  • Address structural barriers and fight oppression
  • Envision people-centered solutions for Development Justice
  • Hold a rally to demand the United Nations to start taking actions and genuinely uphold human right
