Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) invites Case Study of Feminist Legal Strategy in Asia and the Pacific. 

Deadline of Submission for the Case Study is on 31 July 2023

APWLD is going to produce Feminist Legal Theory and Practice Thematic Guide by October 2024. We are calling for members, partners and FLTP alumni to submit feminist case studies to supplement the Thematic Guide. 

 

Objectives 

  • To identify the learnings on the use of law from a feminist angle;
  • To understand and document what and how different legal strategies have been used as a tool by women human rights defenders/advocates/organisations and peoples’ movements to advance women’s human rights and Development Justice;
  • To strategize and strengthen the current strategic litigation systems, ways for larger legal strategies and contribute to having a holistic understanding on how different legal strategies can be used and contribute to secure women’s human rights in the region. 

 

Follow the given guidelines: 

  • The background, legal contexts, timeline, feminist legal strategies used to support the cause of action and other relevant points;
  • Any legal empowerment approaches, advocacy campaigns and/or international lobbying taken place during the case for supporting the women rights defenders/ women rights activists;
  • Please attach hyperlinks of relevant materials and footnotes within the case study/ studies;
  • The case study submission form should contain only one case study details, if you wish to submit more than 1 case study, please use the submission form individually per case study. 
  • The case study submitted should not be older than 5 years. 
  • One member/partner organisation, FLTP alumni and ally organisations can submit maximum 2 case studies but one submission should be within the limited words that is mentioned in the feminist case study submission form
