Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting WOMEN in all their diversities, including those belonging to minority and marginalised groups from APWLD member and partner organisations in Asia and the Pacific to apply for the South to South Fellowship Programme. 

The selected Fellow will be expected to work remotely from their home country for a minimum period of six (6) months. The duration may be extended upon agreement. This is a paid Fellowship opportunity expected to start as early as April 2026.

The South to South Fellow will work with our committed Secretariat and membership to advance women’s human rights and women’s organising power, strengthening cross-movement solidarity to advocate for Development Justice. 

Duration and Key Tasks of the South to South Fellow 

The successful applicant will be hired for a period of six months. They will work closely on providing institutional support and working closely with APWLD members, governance body and APWLD Secretariat members. The South to South Fellow’s main task will include the following: 

  • Assists and works closely with Regional Coordinator & Interim/Deputy Regional Coordinator to provide effective liaison; and coordinate the workflow between the Regional Coordinator and Interim Deputy Regional Coordinator and the Secretariat.
  • Provides the Regional Coordinator & Interim/Deputy Regional Coordinator with technical and logistical support to effectively manage their schedules and priorities (including travels). 
  • Support and Works closely with Regional Coordinator & Interim/Deputy Regional Coordinator to organise spaces for APWLD members’ strategic discussion and network sustainability.
  • Works closely with Regional Coordinator & Interim/Deputy Regional Coordinator and governance bodies to advance APWLD members’ engagement, solidarity and leadership.
  • Support in managing the institutional work calendar of APWLD. 
  • Oversee and manage the logistical and administrative preparations for governance and membership (annual and quarterly) meetings.
  • Support in coordinating the monthly meetings of the Secretariat. 
  • Provides or facilitates documentation support during Secretariat and governance meetings. 
  • Support in managing correspondence received through APWLD Organisation Email Account.
  • Support the Membership Application Process which includes consolidating information, maintaining databases and communicating with applicants. 
  • Systematises, updates and maintains the membership database. 
  • Work closely with the Regional Coordinator and Interim/Deputy Regional Coordinator.
  • Other tasks as required.

Selection Criteria

  1. Staff or members of APWLD members or Partner organisations from countries in Asia and the Pacific region, and must be recommended by that organisation. 
  2. Young woman (below 35 years of age at the time of application) who has not held an executive position within the organisation.
  3. At least 2-5 years of experience in women’s movement at local or national level.
  4. In-depth knowledge and understanding of women’s human rights and development in Asia and the Pacific.
  5. Committed and available to undertake the Fellowship for a minimum of six months and be able to work remotely from their home country.
  6. Proficient in English, both oral and written.
  7. Proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.
  8. Previous experience in event coordinations, administrative or liaison roles is an asset. 
  9. A written commitment or agreement with the recommending national organisation to work (as a paid staff or on a voluntary basis) for a double period on her return (e.g. If the Fellowship with APWLD was for six months, return services should be for a year).

Remuneration Details 

APWLD will provide a stipend of USD $800 per month for the duration of the Fellowship.
