In this episode, APWLD member Titi Soentoro of Aksi! for Gender, Social, and Ecological Justice from Indonesia together with APWLD Programme Officer Sanam Amin talk about the gendered impact of tax policies and reforms and what needs to be done to address this. Tax is a feminist issue as it regulates how communities, particularly women, access basic necessities such as clean water, safe public transportation, education and healthcare. The podcast also discusses public-private partnerships (PPPs) and its increasing use by governments to build infrastructure and deliver services. Feminists argue that the PPPs are dangerous and have discriminatory impacts on women.
