APWLD and allied civil society organisations pushed forward our development justice model at a meeting of  Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF) and multiple stakeholders on 3 March 2014.

APWLD Grounding the Global -International Mechanisms programme officer Tessa Khan presented inputs on the issue of financing mechanisms packaged as loans and the involvement of private sector and international financial institutions in sustainable development financing. Meanwhile IBON International’s Paul Quintos spoke on the need for a financial transactions tax to be devoted to addressing poverty and climate justice.
